One of the best decisions I have made in recent times is to start tracking my Finances. In July of this year, I started tracking my income, spending, debts, savings, and investments.
I made a Google spreadsheet to help me with this and it is one of the best things I have done for my personal finances.
Tracking my income and spending has helped me to know where most of my finances are coming from and where they are going.
The graph below shows my income by category
And the graph below shows my spending by category.
I am looking to diversify my income to be less dependent on my salary. I am trying to cut down on unnecessary spending to increase my investment and emergency savings.
I am able to get insights on what kind of spending I must reduce and what forms of income I must work on from my data in this spreadsheet.
If you want to make a difference in your finances and make data-driven financial decisions, having a financial tracker and planner is a great choice to make.
It is only when you take control of your finances that you begin to see a meaningful change in your journey to effectively manage your finances and build your wealth.
